Categories, what are they used for?

  • Organizing your Inventory Stock
  • Assistance in searching for inventory items
  • Ability to select inventory and report on sales by product type
  • Reporting of profitability and stock valuation
  • Sales and marketing trends by selected groups of items
  • Cataloging and Counting of stock

Categories are a reflection of your business, what items that you purchase, stock and sell from your business, what you see when you look at the showroom or warehouse.

If you have a well organized business selling inventory to customers, categories should reflect What you sell, NOT who you buy if from.
