Problem 1
Serialized item cannot be added to inventory as the system reports it is a duplicate serial number. The serial number does not exist in the available or sold in the Serial Numbers tab in the inventory item.
Solution 1
Go to: Setup Wizard → Inventory → Serial Number Options Uncheck: Serial Numbers must be unique across inventory
Problem 2:
Would like to make the serialized inventory unique across all inventory, regardless of parts and suppliers

Problem 3:
Upon receiving items from a PO, the user receives the following error. A duplicate serial number exists for this item (ensure that the serial does not start with 'DEFAULT')!
Even if the serial number or part number cannot be found in the system, this is due to a Barcode Scanner error, the Scanner must be set up correctly. For example, a customer kept receiving this error, however manually typing in the serial, or entering it with a Barcode Scanner over VNC, the problem didn't occur. The Scanner wasn't terminating or carriage returning to the next line.
