Installing or upgrading Pervasive 12 is exactly the same as installing or upgrading version 11, and very close to the installation of all previous versions of Pervasive. You don't need to uninstall pervasive 11 before installing Pervasive 12. It will upgrade it normally. However, you will want to de-activate the Pervasive 11 keys before upgrading to version 12.

Actian (Pervasive) v12 SP1 installation files can be transferred from Windward Software support.

Download the appropriate file for the install you are doing. As with most Pervasive installations, the client installation is included in the server installation package. Download it to a suitable location like the desktop so you can find it easily.

NOTE: Many of the images below are from old Installers and no longer apply. Simply follow the instructions provided by the install wizard to complete the installation.

Step 1: Run the installer and click on “Unzip (button)” in “WinZip Self-Extractor

Step 2: Click on “OK (button)” in “WinZip Self-Extractor”

Step 3: Click on “Install PSQL v12 Server Engine (button)” in “PSQL v12” if you are installing on the server.

Click on “Install PSQL v12 Client Only (button)” in “PSQL v12” if you are installing on the client computers.

Step 4: Click on “Next > (button)” in “Actian PSQL v12 Server Engine”

Step 5: Click on “I accept the terms in the license agreement (radio button)” in “Actian PSQL v12 Server Engine”

You MUST accept the license agreement to continue with the installation.

Step 6: Click on “Next > (button) in “Actian PSQL v12 Server Engine”

Step 7: Click on the Complete (radio) then click the “Next > (button)” in “Actian PSQL v12 Server Engine”

Step 8: Click on “Install (button)” in “Actian PSQL v12 Server Engine”

Step 9: Click on “Finish (button)” in “Actian PSQL v12 Server Engine - InstallShield Wizard”

Step 10: If you are installing the Actian PSQL v12 Server Engine or the Workgroup Engine, you will also need to open the Pervasive License Administrator and install the pervasive key.
