 Since the Total Sales figure doesn't mean total taxable sales, the G.S.T. Collected number will not necessarily be 5% of the Total Sales figure. The trouble then is how do we tell what the differences are? I suggest starting with the tax summary report as it can report on some of our non-taxable numbers, and provide some key indicators to help us reconcile the difference. Since the Total Sales figure doesn't mean total taxable sales, the G.S.T.
