Pervasive 3012 Error

SOURCE: Corrupt Registry

ENVIRONMENT:

  • Windows XP and Vista Tested (Not cause of issue)
  • System 5 version 5.42 and higher (Error might not occur in 5.41 and lower)
  • Pervasive 10 CLIENT

Issue may not occur in:

  1. Pervasive 9.5 and lower
  2. Pervasive Workstation or Server

ISSUE:

You may recieve the following error when performing the task of linking a workstation to a dataset
AFTER doing an install of:

  1. Pervasive 10 CLIENT and
  2. System 5.42 (5.42.0.49 tested)

SOLUTION

Make sure you are logged on as a user with Local Administrative Rights to the computer
Open the registry (How to open\edit the registry: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/136393
Go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE | SOFTWARE | Windward
Find the following Key:

  • DataDirectory

Double Click on DataDirectory
Delete all the information in the “Value Data” field
Close the registry
Try to Launch System 5 again
