Kits, an advanced inventory topic

Curriculum

Below are several links to our various resources regarding kits. Please review and test test test. Testing will be key to understanding and customizing the settings related to your kit items. Once you have performed your due diligence research and prepared a list of questions you will be ready for an appointment with an implementation specialist if you have an active implementation plan. If you are not in implementation of do not have an implementation plan, then there are options for purchasing additional implementation hours. If however something is broken or you are stuck on a screen, please contact support to get past that specific issue.

How are kits used?

  • Kits allow us to sell multiple items by putting one part on an invoice.
  • Kits can perform the stock control at “time of sale” or “time of assembly”
  • Kits can set the retail price to be the “sum of the parts” or “set on the kit”
  • There are special types of kits like information only, or tag-along kits
  • There are some dis-assembly options on PO's that work with some kit types
  • Kits can be nested and we call this kits within kits
  • Sales of kit items only show for items that are shown on the invoice (exceptions, and options may change this in some circumstances)
  • There is limited support for serial numbers with kits.Things become problematic when you try to turn 3 serial numbered parts into a single serial number. This applies to static kits and therefore is done at assembly time not dynamically at the point of sale.
    • Tag along kits are a great type of kit when you need the children to have serial numbers and need to handle at point of sale.
