==== Beginning your System Five Update ====

Now that you have met the prerequisites for updating System Five, it is time to start the actual update itself. \\
We will be updating System Five through System Five itself, using the ftp server option in utilities. \\

**1.** Sign into System Five and choose the **Utilities** option at the top menu, then select **Windward System Five FTP Update**, like shown below:

**2.** After selecting **System Five FTP Update**, the System will automatically choose the fastest FTP update for you. \\
  * Typically, **ftp.windward-ca** will always be the default, as it is the fastest. 
  * **Passive FTP** is enabled by default, but if you are experiencing issues connecting through firewalls, etc., un-check passive.
